# Websites Built to Convert

Most sites are a brochure with a contact form stuck on the end. I build them as systems — every page doing a job, every path going somewhere, every action measured.

The Method

## Three things I get right before touching a pixel

Making something look good is the easy part. Whether it actually earns you money gets decided earlier — in how it's structured, what each page is for, and whether you can see what's happening.
01 System Thinking

### A site is a network, not a stack of pages

Nobody reads a website front to back. They land wherever your ad or a search result drops them, then wander sideways. So the homepage isn't the front door — it's just the busiest intersection. I map every page's role and its next step before any design happens, so there's no route that quietly dead-ends.

Every route lands in the same place. Nothing dead-ends.
02 Intent Behind Every Page

### Every page answers one question and asks for one thing

A page trying to do four jobs does none of them well. Before I lay anything out, each page gets one question it exists to answer and one action it exists to prompt. If a section serves neither, it comes out. That's usually why these pages end up shorter — and work better.

Four zones, four jobs. Anything fitting none of them gets cut.
03 Conversion as the Outcome

### If it isn't measured, it's decoration

Tracking goes in while I'm building, not bolted on six months later. Every action that matters fires a named event into Analytics and the ad platforms, so you can see exactly where people are dropping off instead of guessing. Without it, every decision after launch is a coin flip with your budget on it.

Illustrative rates — yours get measured, not assumed.

Built Mobile-First

## Most of your customers will never see the desktop version

Most searches now happen on a phone — and for local service businesses it runs higher still. So mobile isn't the version I shrink down at the end. It's the one I design first, then expand.

- Tap-to-call in the header A phone number you have to scroll for is a phone number nobody dials.
- The action sits above the fold Book or quote is visible on the first screen — no hunting, no scrolling.
- Real thumbs, real targets Buttons sized for a thumb in a truck, not a mouse cursor at a desk.
- Weight budgeted for cell service Images compressed and lazy-loaded so it opens fast on a bad signal. Ride & Tide Detailing rideandtidedetailing.com Prime Ops Hauling primeopsfl.com

What matters in a site

## Looking good is the entry fee. These are what make it work.

### Event Tracking & Measurement

A website is only the first part of the system. From the start, sites are built to work with tracking and analytics — whether that's Google Analytics, Search Console, or paid platforms like Google and Meta — so performance can be measured, optimized, and acted on.

Without clean tracking, decisions downstream are guesswork. This foundation ensures everything that follows is driven by real data.

### Mobile Friendly

A large share of search traffic now happens on mobile. It's more important than ever to have a site that performs well on all platforms.

We meticulously review and make any and all adjustments necessary to ensure quality across every device.

### Search Engine Optimization

Every website we build goes through a rigorous SEO checklist to ensure you have the best chance of being found organically by your customers.

For those who want even more, we also offer Google search ads for sponsored placement at the top of the search results.

Any one of these on its own is a nice-to-have. Together they're the difference between a site that looks fine and a site that pays for itself.

FAQ

## Questions I get asked about websites

**How much does a website cost?**

Builds start at $1,500 for a complete six-page site with schema, llms.txt, a mobile-first build and a lead vault on your own domain. From there it goes to $4,500 for a ten-to-fourteen page build with a page per service, and $9,500 and up for the full thing — interactive tools, original written content, and the AI-answer layer. This site is a long way past a six-page brochure, and something at that level is not a starter build. I will tell you which one you actually need before quoting, and I will tell you if it is the cheapest one.

**How long does a build take?**

Two to three weeks from the day I have what I need from you — copy direction, photos, and access to your domain. The bottleneck is almost always getting content back, not the build itself.

**How many revisions do I get?**

Two one-hour revision sessions, done as calls where we go through the site together and I make the changes live while we talk. That is normally enough to get it exactly how you want it, and it is far faster than trading emailed change lists for a month.

**Do I own the website?**

Yes. The domain stays in your name and the site is yours. Where it is built on a platform that supports transferring ownership, I hand the whole project over to your account so you are not renting your own website from me. The lead vault means enquiries are stored on your site too, so your customer list never lives only in someone else's system.

**Why not just use Wix, Squarespace or a template?**

They are fine for looking present. They are weaker at the parts that decide whether the site earns anything — page speed, structured data, tracking wired in at build time, and control over how the whole thing is put together. I moved my own site off Wix for exactly those reasons.

**Will it work on phones?**

It is built mobile-first, because around 80% of your traffic will be on a phone. That means the phone layout is the one designed first and the desktop version adapts to it, rather than the other way round.

## Every decision downstream depends on how the site is built upstream.

If your site looks fine but nothing's happening, it's usually structural. Structural is fixable.

## Diagrams on this page
- Site architecture diagram: three entry points feed the homepage, which routes visitors through services, proof and content, with every path resolving to one booking conversion point.
- Site architecture, stacked for mobile: paid ads, search and social feed the homepage, which routes to services, proof and content, all converging on one booking conversion point.
- Annotated wireframe: a page split into four zones, each labeled with the job it performs and the visitor question it answers.
- Four page zones stacked for mobile, each paired with the job it does and the visitor question it answers: answer the question, kill the doubt, prove the method, ask once.
- Two funnels compared: an untracked funnel whose middle stages are unknown, and a tracked funnel where each stage fires a named event and shows a conversion rate.
- Mobile view of two stacked funnels: without tracking the middle stages are unknown; with tracking each stage has a named event and a conversion rate.
- Diagram: tracking, mobile performance and search visibility all feed into one outcome — a site that earns its keep.
